Pika Energy, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems seeks a talented Frontend Software Engineer Intern to work on frontend development to contribute to our technical vision and to design a modern highly responsive web-based user interface. The ideal candidate will be willing to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment; has a passion for technology and renewable energy; and a willingness to take on new areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will see through multiple projects while working closely with other team members to accomplish project goals.

This position is located in Westbrook, Maine.

: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Building features for web applications built in React/Javascript

Designing UX/UI solutions to many different types of problems

Designing and implementing data visualization components

Working with Backend (API/Database) engineers to efficiently organize and share data

Participate in collaborative code reviews across many different disciplines on a software team

: Minimum Qualifications
Actively enrolled in an accredited degree program in computer science or software engineering
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with web applications built in React/Javascript

Background in UX/UI design

Knowledge of backend functionality

Team-oriented practices and a drive towards seeing tasks to completion

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a collaborative environment
Great-to-have

Basic knowledge of software systems

Experience with databases, data entry, and data analysis

Passionate and knowledgeable about clean energy and new technology
Physical demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
