Penn State Extension in Adams County seeks to hire a Summer Intern for the 1 Million Cups Project. The 1 Million Cups Project is a monthly entrepreneur-focused event developed by the Kauffman Foundation. The idea is that communities around the country share 1 million cups of coffee while developing their entrepreneurial ecosystems. The Summer Intern will plan, implement, and evaluate 1 Million Cups events. The Intern will provide support at 1 Million Cups events by recording registration and assisting with the management of events.

The Intern will write news releases, social media posts, and assist with general marketing to increase public awareness and participation. This job opportunity introduces the student to career opportunities within Penn State Extension. This position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently. Must be a team player who can work with diverse adults. The Summer Intern works under the supervision of the Adams County Leadership and Community Vitality Program Area Leader.

This is a summer position beginning in mid-May and ending in Mid-August, with flexibility depending upon availability of the applicant. Applicants must be enrolled in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences. Preference will be given to applicants with undergraduate coursework in business, entrepreneurship, education, marketing, agriculture or other agricultural or entrepreneurship related fields. This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks to work with minors. Applicant must also be willing to work flexible hours.


Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
