AHF is currently seeking Interns for the 2020 Summer Internship Program: This is a Paid Summer internship from June 1st - August 28thThe program will provide insight for students who have interest in the field.
Managed Care Intern
The Managed Care Intern is responsible for projecting and integrating the Mission and Core Values of the organization within and outside of the Managed Care Division.
The Managed Care Division interns will have an opportunity to participate in the development and execution of programs to engage HIV-positive individuals with state, federal and community-based health care programs as well as providing direct support to those individuals. You will have any opportunity to work very closely with the National Quality Director in developing, analyzing, and reporting on medical and clinical quality improvement initiatives being conducted in AHF facilities nationwide.
The intern expectation would be to create a system for Utilization Management so that a point person at each hospital and facility is identified and available to PHP. Daily contacts for utilization, relationship building, clinical and discharges summaries needed. This would include meeting with each staff member and reviewing basics of software in real time with return demonstration. The intern would assist with workflows and processes needed.
The Managed Care Intern will also collaborate with other departmental staff across the Division, such as Utilization and Care Management on quality improvement project design, data collection, tracking & analysis, and reporting
- Must be a fulltime student (junior/senior) at an accredited 4-year college or post graduate
- Must have a gpa of 3.0 or higher majoring in Health Education, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
- Must commit to the full duration of the program and full time hours
- Must have exceptional computer skills, writing skills, and project management skills
