Biotech Internship

The Cell Therapy Engineering and Processing team is developing novel technologies in Wilbraham and Springfield, Massachusetts, to enable manufacturing of cell and gene therapy processes. The technologies comprise patented acousto-fluidics platforms for cell processing, such as concentration, washing, media exchange, and labeled and label-free cell selection. This work has resulted in the launch of ekkoTM, an automated cell processing platform with single use cartridges for cell and gene therapy manufacturing.

Life Sciences Internship:
You will work in the life sciences group focusing on the development of the acoustic affinity cell selection platform. You will work on aspects of mammalian cell culture. You will perform acousto-fluidic affinity cell selection experiments. You will characterize the binding of protein and nucleic acid ligands, e.g. antibodies and aptamers, to specific targets, e.g., T-cell receptors. You will participate in SOP writing and lab management duties that will enable the team to maintain a fast and steady flow of experiments. You will analyze results and present them to the team.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We are looking for students in life sciences pursuing a degree in
  • Bioprocessing, Biochemical or Biomedical engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or equivalent
