Primary Accountabilities

We are hiring for interns to join our Cloud Engineering teams. We have 2 teams that are involved in our Cloud Migration efforts. One team is developing and building tools and patterns to migrate our applications to the Cloud and the other team is building and automating the Cloud Infrastructure Platform (AWS!!) The two job descriptions are below but in general they are overlapping in the type of work you'd do here as an intern. The ideal candidates will have development/coding skills (Python / Java / Shell / Bash) and some exposure to AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Containers) .

Responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of technology solutions that can transform the business in a cloud environment. Works closely with internal staff in the development and governance of technology architecture standards, guidelines, and patterns in support of solution delivery. Applies Cloud software engineering principles and practices across a range of systems/technologies and situations. Utilize test driven development practices to develop of secure, scalable, and highly available application solutions that leverage cloud native services. Builds solutions encompassing continuous testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery using cloud technologies.

Work collaboratively with Software Engineers to analyze, develop, implement, support, and continuously evolve software-defined infrastructure, application patterns, software, and technology solutions in Cloud environments to govern, monitor, and secure the cloud environments and data for the company. Builds repeatable solutions working within and between engineering and operations teams to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Assists with technology evaluations and re-engineering activities to support strategy definition and continuous improvement activities
  • Collaborates with architecture and security to understand basic requirements
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of issues with tools, processes, applications or infrastructure
  • Adheres to Change management and Problem management policies and gains familiarity with ITIL or other formalized IT operations frameworks.

  • Engages with engineering and operations teams throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of issues with tools, processes, applications or infrastructure
  • Participates in the evaluation of current development and operations procedures
  • Assist in the operational review of cloud architecture with the goal of automating and improving the existing and future environments
  • Participates in the configuration, deployment and management of services and applications; troubleshoots basic systems

Education/Licenses/Designations
  • Must be in pursuit of a post-secondary degree or certificate during the semester of the internship.
  • Pursuing post-secondary education in a related major to the internship.

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
  • Basic analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience working within a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of developing and managing project work.
