The Software Engineering Co-op will work in a Baxter Software Engineering team for a period of 3-9 months, assisting engineers and scientists with new product development and/or product support activities.
This position will allow the student to gain hands-on experience with different aspects of the development and support of medical products. In addition, students will receive mentoring from a manager, and will work with teammates to prepare students for a successful career in science or engineering at Baxter. Activities performed throughout the term may include designing software, designing tests, estimation, and design change implementation. Students who excel could be considered for other full-time positions, or subsequent internships or co-ops.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or Science fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong academic performance
- Track record of meeting key goals and delivering results
- Passion for Science, Engineering or Technology
- Desire to work in the healthcare industry
- Strong technical aptitude
- Problem solving using a variety of techniques
- Critical thinking
- Intern or Co-op experience (preferred)
- Self-confident team player driven by results
