JOB TITLE: Intern, Communications

DEPARTMENT: Communications
JOB SUMMARY
The Communications Intern will support the development and execution of internal and external communications for a global, dynamic organization. The individual in this global role will help support programs and initiatives that engage, align and inspire employees at Cooper and enhance our brand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plan, write, edit a variety of communication materials across various communications mediums, such as an intranet site, company website, newsletter/magazine publications, video scripts, presentation decks and all-employee emails.
  • Assist with internal and external communications projects and deliverables, including quarterly meetings, newsletters, social and web content, intranet story creation, employee engagement projects.
  • Support Corporate Social Responsibility and Global Wellness initiatives, messaging and content.
  • Project coordination and administrative activities including event planning.
  • Administration and support with communications on the intranet/internet sites.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • A successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent project coordination and communication skills, and the ability to be flexible, multi-task and adapt to competing demands.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexible and comfortable with change.
  • Ability to write clean, clear and concise communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, synthesize and apply a range of information and experience quickly in new situations and settings.
  • Ability to solicit and quickly incorporate feedback while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong creative bent as well as familiarity with information technologies that may be utilized.
  • Organizational and project management abilities to ensure that all projects deliverables are met.

EDUCATION
  • Current college student, majoring in communications, marketing, public relations or journalism
  • Junior or Senior year or working towards a post-graduate degree
EXPERIENCE
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), iMovie, SurveyMonkey, WordPress, Google Analytics preferred
  • Experience with social media platforms preferred
