ICONA Resorts is actively seeking a Front Desk Intern for our summer 2020 season at our Diamond Beach location. The Front Desk Intern is responsible for welcoming guests, checking guests in/out and making guests feel comfortable in their environment. The Front Desk Intern will have an opportunity to learn front desk operations, work with the Room Block Specialist, and shadow the Front Desk Manager.

1. Greets and welcomes guests.
2. Assigns rooms and keys.
3. Answer the phone in a pleasant manner.
4. Makes reservations.
5. Collects and distributes messages for guests.
6. Prepares bills and collects payment for visits.
7. Coordinates with various departments to ensure rooms are ready for check-in.
8. Answers inquiries regarding hotel area and services.
9. Provide luggage service when needed.
10. Provide suggestions of places to visit, eat and shop.
11. Arranges transportation.
12. Maintains hotel records.
13. Participate in ICONA’s weekly culture meetings.
14. Work with the Room Block Specialist to learn operational and administrative functions for group block management including building blocks, managing group inventory, billing, pre-arrival and post departure tasks as required.
15. All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
16. Performs other duties as directed.

This position operates in a hotel setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require lifting of products weighing up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This role requires forty, plus hours to include, nights weekends and holidays.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current college student.
- Hospitality experience.
