Summary/Objective:
We are currently seeking a Corporate Communications Intern at our headquarters location in Chandler, Arizona. This internship is a compensated, part-time position during the 2020 summer (20-30 hours/week). It is an opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate majoring in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field to work with a small, but ambitious, corporate communications team. This individual will participate in a wide range of external and internal communications activities throughout the organization.
Essential Functions:
Primarily a supportive role to the Corporate Communications Director and Marketing Communications Manager, specific work may include:

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
  • Aid in content/design development of marketing materials
  • Assist with website content administration and editing/proofreading
  • Post website content and imagery through a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Review and monitor social media content for LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments/business units and outside partner agencies

INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
  • Assist with creation and distribution of internal emails, news stories, blogs, signage, videos, etc.
  • Publish assets to Rogers’ intranet through an online administrative tool
  • Support implementation of employee engagement campaigns
  • Help plan company events and internal meetings

Required Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • Experience editing/proofreading/creating content for the web, social platforms and/or publications
  • Familiar with social media best practices and channel strategies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Photoshop, Survey Monkey, WebEx and CMS platforms a plus, but not required

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
