Jacobs is seeking a Junior Java Developer in Alexandria, VA. Duties will include:
  • Javascript/Java Developer with at least 1 year of experience in developing Javascript and J2EE applications.
  • Interpret data, analyze results provide ongoing reports.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret data sets and document recommendations.
  • Design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications to support business requirements.
  • Follow approved Agile life cycle methodologies.
  • Create design documents & performs program coding.
  • Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

Qualifications

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • 1+ years of relevant IT experience and a Bachelors degree.
  • Experience with SQL, Sybase, Oracle
  • Experience with writing basic SQL queries
  • Experience with databases including Stored Procedures, DML and DDL tasks.
  • Knowledge of Core Java. Experience with any Spring Framework, Spring boot
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and experience with common JavaScript frameworks (Ember, Angular)
  • Experience with Spring or other MVC framework.
  • Experience with web services (REST, SOAP)
  • Experience with source control management (SVN, Git)
  • Experience with build automation (Jenkins, Hudson)

Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
