Software Engineer Internship

Printpack is seeking a qualified Applications Development Intern for Summer 2020. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area of study and have an interest in developing business applications.

In addition to strong technical skills, the position requires business savvy and customer service. Some occasional travel to plant sites is also a possibility. This position will be located in Atlanta, Georgia and report to the IT Applications Team Lead.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing integrations with robotics and/or production equipment
  • Developing in databases using Oracle PL/SQL or MSSQL T-SQL including complex stored procedures and user defined functions
  • Consuming and developing web services (SOAP/XML, REST/JSON)
  • Web Development (HTML, CSS, JSP, ASP.NET, PHP)
  • Mobile App Development (Apache Cordova, Xamarin, Oracle Mobile ADF)
  • XML handling and conversions (XSLT, XPath)
  • Implementing networking and communications protocols (e.g. HTTP, HTTPS, AS2, FTP, SFTP, FTPS) including security, certificates, and keys
    • nix shell scripting
  • Developing applications for Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne using the JDE E1 development toolset
  • Interfacing with Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work as needed outside of traditional business hours
  • Proven technical aptitude and solid understanding of programming concepts
  • A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Proven experience leading projects with internal and external customers to implement solutions

  • Analyzing and troubleshooting systems and processes
  • Providing maintenance and support of IT applications and systems
  • Developing client relationships that foster better understanding of the business needs
  • Process improvement & leveraging best practices

Minimum Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study
  • Class and/or work experience developing applications using a 3GL programming language (Java, .NET, Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc)
