Software Engineer Internship

A Day in the Life...

As a new member of our team you’ll jump in and learn how our applications listen and react to live data streams. You’ll be hands on in Unreal Engine and software applications that listen and retrieve data from major sports like MLB + the NFL
  • Build and maintain new features with the content tech team across Disney, ABC, and ESPN products.
  • Help test and validate product functionality, and contribute to the team
  • Work with senior engineers to implement features following established best practices
  • Partner with other engineering teams to learn and share technologies

  • Passionate about software engineering and related graphic technologies
  • Educating yourself in Software Development and realtime 3d graphic applications such as Unreal Engine and or Unity
  • Has the curiosity to research and learn new technologies in all parts of the software stack
  • Employs positive thinking and is able to work constructively in a diverse team setting
  • Demonstrates determination in finding solutions to complex visualizations
  • Values learning and being exposed to new experiences
  • Loves sports and wants to build the best experiences for fans
  • General understanding of 3D Realtime graphic applications
  • General understanding of C# coding
  • General understanding of API’s and basic DB structuring
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate Level student or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduating) pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field.
Internship Eligibility
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks, and the approximate dates are June 8, 2020– August 14, 2020. Interns will work 40 hours.

Location: Bristol, CT

Housing: A limited amount of housing assistance may be available for those who qualify.

The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment that oversees all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company. Disney Streaming is responsible for developing and operating The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer video businesses globally, including the ESPN+ premium sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; the upcoming Disney+ service; and BAMTECH Media, a global leader in direct-to-consumer video streaming products and solutions. As a Software Engineering Intern on the Content Tech team in Disney DTCI, you will help build and learn the most cutting edge graphic applications enjoyed by our fans. You’ll get an understanding of the systems that help create, curate, and deliver content to Disney, ABC, and ESPN products worldwide. You will work with modern technologies including Unreal Engine, Node RESTful APIs, C#, Adobe After Effects, Maya and more to deliver scalable, elegant solutions for new product features.
