Title: Social Media and Marketing Intern

The Housing Partnership Equity Trust -- HPET ( is a unique social impact REIT started by the nation’s leading nonprofit multifamily developers and owners, who collectively own and operate over 60,000 units of multifamily housing. The company has a triple bottom-line objective to achieve a transformative community development mission while operating as a sustainable and profitable enterprise. HPET and its JV partners currently own 14 multifamily properties with a market value of nearly $300MM and equity of $81MM.

HPET is seeking an organized, self-motivated, creative individual to serve as part-time Social Media & Marketing intern. College seniors or graduate students majoring in Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, or Business Communications and with past internship experience are preferred. The anticipated work schedule will be 8-20 hours per week. The individual will support the company’s expansion of its media presence.

The work will entail:

  • Developing and curating content for HPET’s social media and marketing channels
  • Monitoring and assisting with posting on blogs, forums, and social networks
  • Developing and maintaining a calendar of observations and events in affordable housing, social impact investing, multifamily industry programs, etc.
  • Developing talking points for speeches for HPET leadership
  • Keeping a pulse on new social trends to bring fresh ideas to HPET’s public presence
  • Contributing to potential website and branding redesign project

  • College senior or first-year graduate student with major in Digital Marketing, Social Media

Management, or Communications preferred

  • Understanding of affordable housing and housing finance a plus
  • Strong and efficient research capabilities, with ability to prioritize and analyze information that is both quantitative and qualitative in nature
  • Detail-oriented with excellent writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Resources: Workspace, computer, and e-mail account (all work to be performed onsite during first two months; telecommuting thereafter to be considered)
