Marketing Internship

Calix is looking for an Events Marketing Intern to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and new program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. This opportunity will provide education into Calix and how markets are created. This role will provide exposure to different products, working across functions and at different maturity levels of product life cycles. We are looking for someone who is passionate about customer acquisition and data-driven marketing and who wants to discover and optimize new ways to engage with customers and prospects. This person will be key as we drive new pilots, programs, and learning initiatives for the wider demand generation and events marketing team.

This is an exciting learning opportunity for any aspiring Marketing, Hospitality or Business student to come into a high growth, fast-paced environment and get real hands-on experience as part of the Events Marketing program to work with some of the best minds in the industry.

We are looking for a strong candidate to work remotely in the US or Canada and join us full-time in the Summer months.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with key internal stakeholders to support the development of Events Marketing programs
  • Ensure our CRM tools have complete and clean data
  • Research and evaluate event venue options, as well as activation and giveaway ideas
  • Assist team with pre-event marketing programs as needed
  • Review event campaign data in Salesforce to ensure accuracy and recommend changes required
  • Assist with developing and communicating an Events Marketing and budget plan
  • Create data-driven marketing training materials
  • Assist in building a branded speaker bureau
  • Participate in weekly meetings and be prepared to present an idea you fostered during your program

Qualifications:

  • A rising junior or senior attending an accredited four-year college or university majoring in marketing, business, hospitality or a related field
  • Excel and data entry experience
  • Salesforce or CRM experience preferred
  • Team player
  • Experience in a role or project requiring analytical problem solving and analysis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Available to work effectively with a high tolerance for ambiguity and fast changing environments
  • Microsoft Office software suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
