Description
The Test & Evaluation Engineering Co-op will utilize technical and leadership skills in a global team environment to apply engineering principles in the development and testing of new products, quality auditing of existing products, and troubleshooting of field issues. This work will have a heavy emphasis on hands-on applications.
Responsibilities
  • Develop expertise in control valve and instrument test methods and participate in continuous improvement of test technology.
  • Interface with Simulation, Design, and Product Engineering groups as part of a cross-functional team to determine testing requirements.
  • Develop and execute test plans in cooperation with internal design teams and external customers.
  • Assemble test units, install measurement equipment, and set up data acquisition systems.
  • Evaluate experimental data and prepare engineering reports that include analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Use of LabVIEW, DeltaV, VBA, and/or MS Visual Studio programming software for the development and implementation of automated systems that could consist of process or report automation, physical hardware setup, or data analysis.
  • Collaborate in an agile team environment toefficiently conduct testing.

Requirements
  • Required Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering
  • GPA: 2.5
  • Status: Junior or Senior standing
  • Completion of the following courses is required for this position: Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and Mechatronics/Instrumentation.
  • Hands on mechanical aptitude and experience
