General Summary
The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to shadow, learn, and engage with many different areas of HR, including: the new hire process, recruitment, worker’s compensation as well as personnel tracking and management. The candidate would acquire the necessary experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and would obtain a certain degree of creativity and latitude when performing Human Resources tasks.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • At the direction of HR Generalists, Manager, & Director, provide general support to all aspects of the HR department
  • Responsible for the organization and accuracy of employee data in company database
  • Ensure the accuracy of HR file room, including I-9 Form management, and creating employee files for new hires
  • Assisting the HR team with administering employee health and benefit plans
  • Gathering data for OSHA reporting
  • Work with HR Generalist to assist with the coordination of interviews, including liaising with candidates, sending confirmation emails, booking conference rooms, and greeting candidates
  • Participate in pre-screening conversations with candidates to determine their preliminary qualifications
  • Manage Candidate Flow in Application Tracking System (ADP), including reviewing resumes, reviewing pre-screening questions. Track candidate dispositions, and ensure accuracy of candidate status
  • Assist with the processing of background screenings, including gathering documentation, reference reviews, and documenting New Hire paperwork
  • Assist with the oversight and coordination of the inaugural year of the Mentorship Program
  • Provide general administrative support as needed to HR Generalist team
  • Other special projects as needed

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree; preferably in Human Resources or a similar field
  • Must have a strong interest in Human Resources and particularly in Recruiting
  • Strong client service skills with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality in all matters
  • Must be very detail oriented
