Summer 2020 Handbag Design Intern


Camuto Group has an excellent opportunity for a Design Intern. This is a paid internship in our NYC office working with our design team. We are looking for a student who can contribute 32 hours a week. Camuto Group offers bright, motivated individuals the opportunity to receive mentorship, supervision, and training. In addition to gaining hands-on experience in their department, Interns will attend various cross-functional presentations as well as learning sessions with Senior Leadership.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist team in the design of new handbag concepts for the relevant season
  • Work with the design team to create design solutions
  • Complete CAD revisions, color updates and technical packages
  • Creation of sketches for handbag concepts
  • Work with Camuto Group’s licensed brand partners' internal design teams to create cohesive seasonal collections
  • Provide technical details to overseas vendors for prototype development
  • Source materials and applications
  • Assist Accessories Designers with updating and recoloring sketches in Illustrator.
  • Organization of Design Room
  • Data entry in PLM system


Qualifications:

  • Ability to hand sketch
  • Must know illustrator, Photoshop is a plus
  • Excel, Word, Outlook
  • PLM experience a plus
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accessories/Footwear Design, Product Development, Fashion Design, or Industrial Design
  • Submit a portfolio of your design work

Details

  • Timing: Full-time, beginning June 8 – until July 31
  • Who should apply: College juniors, seniors and recent graduates
  • Compensation: All interns are full-time, paid positions
  • All interns must be able to pay for their own housing and transportation while in New York City
