Position: Junior DevOps EngineerDescription:Rebellion Photonics is a platform provider of intelligent visual monitoring systems for the oil & gas industry. Our award-winning Gas Cloud Imaging (GCI) system uses proprietary hyperspectral imaging technology coupled with physics-enhanced artificial intelligence to detect and quantify gas leaks in real-time as far as 1 mile away. We are looking for a passionate Jr DevOps Engineer to manage the software releases and dev/stage environments as well as to automate the installation of our software in customer environments. The successful candidate for this position is going to be part of our DevOps team working closely with our Software teams, Field Service engineers and Manufacturing to maintain the production infrastructures for our software products. The candidate should have strong operational experience with public facing web applications including: load balancers, app servers, and database servers (postgres, redis).We need people who can think on their own and see software as part of the entire product. The ideal candidate you should enjoy taking ownership of projects or defined deliverables, and want to work in a collaborative environment with a small team. Rebellion Photonics offers interesting work in a dynamic, friendly, and informal environment with opportunity to grow with the company.Responsibilities:Supporting the day-to-day development operationsPerform library & package updatesPerform server configuration managementPerform version build and version controlManage deployment and operation of our software to dev and staging environmentsManage software release by working closely with our engineering teams to ensure APIs and code function as requiredManage source control including Bitbucket and GitlabAWS management (including EKS, EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, and should be familiar with security best practices)Troubleshoot server and software installation packagesImplement best practices throughout future DevOps work planning & researchEnsure systems are scalable and stable and positioned for growthUtilize various open source technologiesWrite scripts and automation using Perl/Python/Groovy/Java/BashConfigure and manage data sources like PostgreSQL, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis etc.Develop diagnostic and configuration tools to improve deployment and operation of our software products.Manage DNS and TLS certificate infrastructure (using LetsEncrypt and internal Certificate Authorities) .Requirements:Bachelors Degree or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.2+ years of experience as Devops Engineer in creating CI/CD pipelines for various technologies.2+ years of experience in using at least one of the configuration management toolsHighly knowledgeable and experienced with automating tasks using: Ansible, Python, Shell, Salt etc.Expertise in troubleshooting application server, web or configuration issue in production environmentExperience in managing Linux based infrastructureFamiliar with PostgreSQL, Redis, Node, REST, XML, HTTP protocols, authentication, and security mechanismsAnalytical problem solving, using data to support opinions and proposalsAbility to quickly diagnose and propose solutions for technical issues in technology areas; including those which you may not be familiarExperience selecting, configuring, monitoring and supporting a variety of solutions from AWSExperience with / Knowledge of: Sonar, Build tools, TeamCityExperience with source control systems such as Github, GitLab, and BitbucketCapable of analyzing requirements and code management best practices, such as branching, merging, and integration strategiesFamiliarity with several virtualization technologies, distributed file systems, load balancing technologies, and other technologies used to scale enterprise applicationsExperience with modern Javascript and NodeJS development and popular frameworks.Understanding of concepts such as server side, datastores, abstracted services and microservicesExtensive hands-on experience with CD/CI life cyclesDevOps monitoring/logging experienceExperience with the Docker/Kubernetes container ecosystemUS Citizen or Green Card holderRebellion Photonics offers experience based competitive salary and company-paid medical benefits.Rebellion Photonics is an equal opportunity employer.No calls or agencies, please.
