Intern Project Description:

  • Support the preparation and delivery of customer specific membership, encounter, and claims reports that describe care provided by Kaiser Permanente
  • Support requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and delivery of new reports and data in response to customer data requests
  • Work collaboratively with others to identify and address specific data gaps
  • Work collaboratively with others to identify and address process and tool improvements

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to gather, validate, and report quantitative information using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize work including reviewing and documenting work processes
  • Ability to communicate including ability to write and update report and process workflow documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort with metrics and data
  • Accurate data analysis and reporting
  • Background in health and wellness, social sciences or similar
  • Effective presentation and project management skills
  • Flexibility and creativity
Essential Functions:
  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
  • Report development and analytics.

  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
