Software Engineer Internship

Join Entrust Datacard’s Summer 2020 Internship Program as an intern in our Software Group. Gain hands-on experience in your focus area of study and participate in Intern Programming activities that include Presentation Skills Training and a formal Mentor Program. The Summer Internship Program allows undergraduate students an opportunity to gain experience and develop skills through challenging work assignments that truly add value to the business.

Position Overview:
This position will expose the intern to a role in the design and development of features, automated test cases and defect resolution for enterprise software projects.
  • Design and develop proof of concept for new features, in Java and other web technologies.
  • Design and code automated tests, in Java and other languages, to verify functionality of Entrust Datacard software
  • Work with senior developers using Agile (Scrum) processes, and software tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate with development and test teams and be self-motivated.
  • Install and configure software development tools, VMs and Entrust Datacard software.
  • Other tasks assigned as necessary.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed internal and external customer needs
Basic Qualifications:
  • Pursuing BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • At least 2 years of college coursework completed by before start of internship.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
  • Java/J2EE (Java 7/8) as demonstrated by completion of 2 or more programming classes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to HTML, Java Script, GEB
  • Windows and some Unix/ Linux experience
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design/ development and applying design patterns
  • Exposure to or interest in configuration management, build and automated test systems.
