Job Description:
  • Exposure to all aspects of GM's Corporate Licensing Program
  • Exposure to GM's technologies (powertrain, vehicle, telematics, etc.)
  • Support all stages of licensing of GM's patent portfolio to external third parties to include: Technology evaluation, technology scoping, market analysis, partner identification, and deal formation
  • Assist in the growth of the General Motors revenue from its Powertrain, Vehicle, and Manufacturing divisions
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in identifying and cataloging GM's patented intellectual property for potential licensing
  • Assist in the completion of technology screens to determine licensing potential (technology description, market applications, patent scope)
  • Assist in the identification of potential partners
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials
  • Assist in the development of internal and external business case to promote licensing

Knowledge: General understanding of automotive technology

Skills / Abilities:
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office software
  • Well developed communication skills verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with direction
  • Able to secure relevant information and identify key issues
Education / Training:
  • In pursuit of a technical degree in science or engineering (preferred); junior or senior preferred; or
  • In pursuit of Master's Degree in Business Administration with a background in technical field such as science or engineering preferred
