Marketing Internship

The VMware Hands-on Labs deliver a fully operational live desktop environment for customers to experience VMware products. With more than 1 Million labs delivered to date, the Hands-on Labs is a key component of VMware’s marketing and sales efforts.

VMware is looking for a Technical Marketing Engineer to join the Hands-on Labs team. You will be called upon to leverage your skills and experience to build Hands-on Labs content to educate customers on how to understand and best utilize VMware products.

Members of the Hands-on Labs are expected to be virtualization experts as well as evangelists who have a deep understanding of VMware’s technologies and know how to integrate them into end to end solutions that address the business and IT challenges of VMware's customers. As a member in the Hands-on Labs, you will be responsible for engaging with internal engineering teams and content stakeholders to support the development of new labs. The role’s core responsibility will be to help assure lab content is designed for scalability, security, and reliability. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Hands-on Labs content and infrastructure through the development of monitoring scripts and websites to improve operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to lab creation team and help lead the technical process in developing innovative labs that drive lead generation and maturation.
  • Create monitoring and automation scripts to improve day to day operational efficiency.
  • Design new websites and tools to enable customers to do more with the Hands-on Labs.
  • Analyze business trends from usage and survey data to provide better understanding on how labs are used by VMware's customers, and develop strategies to increase usage and value of the Hands-on Labs.

Requirements

  • Software developer, architect, technology advocate, or consultant working with developer and operations technologies.
  • Ability to successfully work across teams.
  • Passion for technologies and solutions, and a strong aptitude for business strategy.
  • Must be a self-starter, and be able to set goals and self-direct your own projects.
  • Exceptional people, presentation, speaking and writing skills.
  • Pursuing a Computer Science or related technical degree preferred
