The ISE team is responsible for the design of cost effective satellite link solutions, identifying the most efficient space segment across Telesat’s International fleet, and specifying both the space and ground segment solutions.

Reporting to the Manager, International Sales Engineering, and as a member of the international Sales Engineering (ISE) Group, you will provide technical support for the pre-sales activities of Telesat’s FSS and Network Services product lines and technical consultation to the International Sales Groups primarily in the US, but also across Telesat’s other global locations.

On the job training and industry certifications will be a large part of this position. Individuals new to the satellite field and recent University graduates are welcome to apply.

How you will contribute

  • Design, estimate cost, and propose solutions based on customer requirements
  • Work directly with the International Sales Team and prospective customers’ technical resources to validate requirements and technical details
  • Prepare, present proposals to, and review requirements directly with customers
  • Attend and actively participate in customer meetings
  • Define satellite transponder operating level by working closely with the Satellite Operations team
  • Identify new solutions within Telesat’s business model which could lead to new revenue opportunities with customers
  • Work directly with customers to plan upgrades, review performance of networks, and to resolve service issues
  • Identify space segment capacity with Telesat’s Marketing and Product teams
  • Support projects from design to implementation
  • Update and maintain multiple databases as well as other engineering information management systems
  • Actively participate in trade shows, customer events, and technical demonstrations in presentation roles

Education and Skills Required

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably with an emphasis on telecommunications or networking)
  • Strong willingness to learn new skills
  • Self-motivation and the drive to take on varied tasks through to conclusion
  • High levels of personal confidence in both work products and oral presentations
  • The ability to work well with a diverse team spread around the world
  • Ability to describe technical solutions in an easily readable, concise, and accurate way
  • Results focused and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel within the USA and Internationally

  • 4G/5G technologies
  • Network management platforms
  • Antennas and RF equipment implementation, operation and diagnostics
  • A second language is highly desirable (written and/or spoken)
