Ancestry is looking for a highly motivated, internet-savvy Back-end/Middleware Software Engineer intern to join our API - Sentinel team. The API team provides mission-critical API access and security to all our back-end data services using the latest Java 8/nodejs technology stacks and AWS computing paradigms. As a Back-end/Middleware Software Engineer on the API team you will join a fast-paced initiative to dramatically accelerate the company’s ability to quickly develop front-end user experiences and data discovery and standardization. What You'll Do
Be part of the development team delivering real features
Interface and onboard other development teams onto the Middleware platform
Learn to deploy systems using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Amazon Web Services
Ensure API performance is best-in-class
Work to refine software designs and create proof-of-concepts
Who You Are
Must be currently enrolled in a university and graduating after Summer 2020
Has a drive to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
Knowledgeable of Java 8
Understands agile methodologies and practices
Is self-motivated, can work independently and digs for an answer
“Nice to have”: experience with Maven, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
