Mechanical Engineering Full Time

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Facebook AR/VR hardware team, you will develop state of the art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms and sensor integration solutions that will create transformative experiences for users of Augmented Reality (AR). You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. You will work on cutting edge technologies with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers and scientists that pioneer mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software and computer vision solutions. We value people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and can envision how that prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product.
  • Create mechanical solutions as a part of a team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to generate concepts and detailed designs
  • Apply rigorous engineering techniques to solve challenging design problems
  • Analyze, optimize, build, test and refine prototypes
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Science or related technical field
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling and physical prototyping
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and associated metrology
  • Knowledge of materials and structural modeling/optimization
  • Experience designing, fabricating, and building mechanical assemblies
