Duties and Responsibilities:

Government Client Budget Management and Invoicing

  • Management of Federal government billing to ensure deadlines are met, relevant financial updates are provided, and billing is in compliance with contract and all other applicable government rules and regulations
  • Manage administrative aspects of major client budgets, including tracking and reporting of real-time budget status
  • Serve as liaison between government contract account staff and accounting department
  • Process and track vendor and independent contractor invoices
  • Work with back office accounting team to get vendor payments released when government client payments are received

Federal Government Contracting and Compliance

  • Review and approve vendor invoices and expense reports related to government contracts to ensure that they are in compliance with relevant Federal or state regulations
  • Participate in Federal government new business procurement process to ensure the financial strategy and pricing is developed with an understanding of government requirements and agency profit and project requirements
  • Ensure Federal government client invoices are paid on or about their due date and that teams are alerted when payments are received
  • Work with government client account managers to accurately track and project manpower needs and fee projections on an overall contract term and month-by-month basis

Additional Duties:

  • Process office invoices
  • Process expense reports for senior executives
  • Ensure credit checks are completed for new government clients
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • One to two years of finance experience in an agency or consulting environment
  • Willingness to learn about Federal government contracting and compliance
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; solid Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and balance shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with staff, clients and vendors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other quantitative/analytical disciplines
